Statement Regarding the Expanded Use of the CCAPS-34 in BetterMynd
Beginning in early 2026, the telehealth company BetterMynd will offer the CCAPS-34 as part of the services their clinicians deliver to college students. The availability of the CCAPS-34 within BetterMynd’s system will apply to counseling centers/institutions that have a contract for their services, and it will be completely separate from the counseling center’s CCMH membership status/benefits.
Over the past year, CCMH thoughtfully considered the request from BetterMynd to integrate the CCAPS within their system, closely collaborating with our Advisory Board and Penn State general counsel to ensure it was an appropriate fit for CCMH and the college counseling center community. We believe that they have a good track record in the college counseling center community and align with CCMH values. We are excited for BetterMynd to implement the CCAPS-34 and note that licensure of the CCAPS to any commercial entity is neither indicative of a partnership nor an endorsement.
Utilization of the CCAPS within BetterMynd will benefit counseling centers in several ways, including instrument consistency, where counseling centers and telehealth clinicians will now be using the same measurement of distress/change. This can help facilitate smoother referrals and consultations between services, as well as improved aggregate reporting. Of note, the BetterMynd CCAPS data will neither be shared with CCMH nor used by us for research, CCAPS norming, or any of our national reports at this time.
The CCAPS was exclusively created and developed by counseling centers, and its use within centers has grown exponentially over the last 20 years. The new implementation of our tools within BetterMynd reinforces the terrific work we have collectively accomplished to advance measurement-based care in our field.
BetterMynd customers will learn more about the CCAPS-34 integration from their local BetterMynd campus representative and the BetterMynd website. Questions about BetterMynd’s plan and timeline for implementation can be directed to their Vice President of Clinical Operations, Kate Wolfe Lyga ([email protected]).
